About us
once in a lifetime

From strangers
to family.

The Ecstasy Project exists for one stretch of life that nobody warns you is temporary — the years you spend on a campus, becoming someone, alongside people who arrived as strangers and left as the closest thing you have to chosen family.

You meet them in a corridor. You do not know yet that they will be at your wedding.

It starts as nothing. A seat taken at random. A group project nobody wanted. A shared umbrella, a borrowed charger, a name you have to ask for twice. Four years later that person knows the version of you that existed before you learned to hide anything — and you know theirs.

In between, there is everything: the 3am conversations that solved nothing, the canteen table that was always yours, the exam week that felt like it would end you, the trip you could not afford and took anyway. The inside jokes that stopped being funny to anyone else years ago and are still funny to you.

And then it ends — not with a moment, but with a slow scattering. Different cities. Different time zones. A group chat that goes quiet between birthdays. It is nobody’s fault. It is just what happens.

We started The Ecstasy Project because all of it — every ordinary, unrepeatable day of it — was sitting in ten thousand photos on ten different phones, and none of us had ever looked at them twice.

Why we make books

A phone holds ten thousand photos and shows you none of them. A book holds a hundred and makes you look at every single one.

What we believe
01

A photo you can hold is a different photo

The same picture means something else in your hands. It stops being a file you scroll past at 2am and becomes an object on a shelf — one your mother picks up, one your friends fight over, one you find again in ten years and lose an hour to.

02

The ordinary days are the ones you miss

Nobody forgets the farewell party. What fades is the walk back from the last lecture, the tea you drank a thousand times, the corridor where you always stopped to talk. We build books that make room for those, not just the highlights.

03

Print it before you need it

Every group thinks it has more time. Then the hostel empties, the offer letters land, the group chat slows to birthdays. The right moment to make the book is while everyone is still in the same city — so we made it take an evening, not a project.

The book itself

Made to outlive the phone it came from

An 11.5" × 8.5" hardcover, bound to lay completely flat so a photo can run across both pages without disappearing into the spine. Archival-grade ink on matte pages, printed to order — one at a time, for one group of people, in Mumbai.

Pick a cover, drop in your photos, move things around until it feels like you. It takes an evening. It lasts considerably longer.

Keep the nights.
Remember the names.

Make the book while everyone is still close enough to argue about which photos go in it.
